My erotic work explores the ideas and concepts of sexual freedom and the beautiful aesthetic of the human body and sex within the gay community. I want to give the perspective of the back gay male like myself painting from what I see around me , online , gay fantasies I have , and some personal experiences. My art relates to the “Fall In Love” theme because from looking at my artwork you might believe that the men I have painted are in love in these paintings , but majority are usually in lust.

ROBERT FAIRLEY III

I usually use oil paint when I create my pieces, but this past year I’ve started using acrylic paint as well. When I paint , I usually work from my darkest tones to my lightest ones. I have this piece I’ve done that’s apart of my series called “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. This particular painting , “Part 2” is a painting of me sitting in the clouds looking down waiting for true love to come along . It definitely depicts my loneliness in this gay lifestyle of mine lol. I approach body positivity and self love a couple of times in my work by owning my curves and figure. Not a single love handle , dimple , or skin tone is missed.

My process is pretty normal. I usually like to listen music when I paint. When I work on my erotic artwork I usually listen to slow R&B music that talks about love and sex to set the mood for the paintings. The main struggle I’ve had with my artwork is sharing it without it getting taken down.I have such a hard time finding a place to post my work without and restrictions or censorship. The advice I would give to an aspiring artist is to never give up and keep going. Don’t worry about all the likes and comments, just keep doing you.
